Following blogger suit and jumping on the Shakuhaci Winter 2012 lookbook train, first stop pink and orange sunset station. It's times - and collections - like these which make spending my summer break working worthwhile, as that pretty peach silk shirt must be mine! Also how unreal are the pants, front and center. Hot damn. I have been liking the whole printed/hippie/pajama style for a while now (think this bali inspired pair from last Shakuhaci last collection or some Celine) but am really hesitant as to whether I could actually pull a pair off. One of my good friends has some similar hot hot pink pants she thrifted that look perfect on her, and are even seriously versatile. She does have the kind of legs which go on for days however, and I can't help but think that I'm way too much of a short ass for loud and/or voluminous trousers. Which kind of goes against my philosophy that dressing for your body type and all that shit is to be forgotten, and there should only be one rule when it comes to clothes: you have to love it.

You can just see my new *first ever* pair of boyfriend jeans hanging over. And for 10 dollars, they are the absolute greatest. I would wear them every day except for the fact that the weather has actually been beautiful lately, so I haven't been able to take them out. Awwww. But hey, well done Tasmania on producing some quality summer heat for a change!

So January. It's almost ended. I start college in just over two weeks, which is way way too soon. My bank account and wardrobe may be much better off, but working 5 days a week has made my holidays seem to go by in fast forward. Super fast forward, like when you keep pressing the button on the remote and it goes up to x64. Sometimes, don't you just wish you could press pause and stay in carefree summer holiday mode forever?

All day breakfast at our favourite place, the rest of the menu is so healthy and heavenly. Did a massive op shop crawl today busing around suburb to suburb, and came home with some pretty rad bargain finds that I'll have to share with you all soon. Tomorrow is predicted to be about 30 degrees (finally a hot day when I'm not at work!) so spending the whole day at the gorge sun baking and jumping rocks is definitely in order.

Came across this beautiful site after googling something along the lines of 'aztec print iphone cases'. I'm not even really sure what aztec print looks like but I was running out of keyword options and after something different - eBay is mostly full of ugly covers involving animal print or butterfly's. Anyway Society6 features designs by thousands of artists, which they can then print onto phone cases, tees, canvases, etc at your choice. So fucking cool. This is just a teensy tiny quick selection as there are approximately more than 34000 (yes really that many) designs to choose from. This is going to be a long hard decision narrowing down. And the best bit? They even do them for iPhone 3GS! Which is what I have, and usually decent cases so hard to find as they're mostly only for 4's. So stoked.

Latest addition to my constantly growing collection of collar statement necklaces - basically the only trend I'm into this season. I've only owned this piece for a few hours but it's already my current favourite, partially because it was only a measly five dollars (Lovisa how I love your pre-xmas sale) but mostly because of the material tie rather than a usual chain. Which is rad because A: IT'S BRIGHT ORANGE and B: the length is totally adjustable, so it can fit smugly under your button-up's shirt collar one day and then be a bit looser to match your tops neckline accordingly the next.... Need I say more?

I've been a little bit obsessed with her art since this NY times Style Magazine feature from last year, and then seeing some of these images and her work pop up on my tumblr dashboard recently has made me fall in love with her style all over again,. Before being discovered for her pretty face she studied art history and has obviously always had a creative streak, which no doubt would have been a big player in her model career taking her as far as it has. The blackboard wall in possibly one of the coolest things I've ever seen - I have a massive desire to paint one (or all) of my bedroom walls chalkboard black so I could constantly draw all over them.

Exam week is finally over, which means no more study for me until 2012! Though I still have my last two weeks of year 10 (which are also the last two weeks for me at my school, awww) to complete but then after that I should have plenty of summer holiday time to get right back into blogging.

Who isn't obsessed with Instagram, am I right?! My crappy iPhone3 quality photos suddenly look 792342000 times more appealing when pretty filters are applied. As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

I went through so many dream jobs in primary school, but the main stages I can remember were a surgeon/one of those people who preform autopsies on dead bodies (what a creepy child I was. I'll blame in on watching too much watching crime investigation tv ha) before then changing to a hairdresser. I know, massive contrasts right? Oh how my poor Barbie dolls suffered.

Did you make this dream come true or change your mind?

I like to think I'm still far from 'growing up' yet haha, but sadly my operating and hair cutting skills are looking pretty rubbish these days. Besides once I got to high school and had to think a little more seriously about my ultimate career, I knew I just had to do something creative and that I have a passion for. My dream since then has been to work in magazines or pr within the fashion industry, and I plan on working my butt off like crazy to get myself there!

What is your fave childhood memory?

My dad first teaching me how to surf when I was really little, I can still remember him pushing me around on his 9ft longboard. Kneeling on the board catching that first tiny wave was the most magic feeling.

The biggest dream you have right now?

Once relaxing school holidays finally start, I'd love for them to never end!! It doesn't get any better then melting hot, carefree summer days and nights. Bliss. Actually what could get better than that would be to travel around the world - anywhere and everywhere!

Your summer must-have pick from the current Sportsgirl range?

Well I constantly must-have half of Sportsgirl (and Sportsgirl makes up at least half of my wardrobe. no shit.) yet I've narrowed it down to just a few! Obviously it's going to be a bit of an orange season for me...

MINK PINK Summer 11/12... Super fun and youthful, reminds me a bit of Wildfox campaigns. All of crazy print/texture mixing and bright colour meets grungy feel = so how I want to be dressing now it's getting hotter! I still have my good old faded blue slashers from last summer (the ultimate high waisted short cut) but those tie dye and red pairs are doing well in convincing me I could do with a more colorful upgrade in time for festival season. Early morning starts, Gossip Girl Season five, and my SUPRE asymmetrical skirt which I am in love with and plan on collecting in a few more colours. It also looks 38293400x better when it's been ironed, as opposed to the combination of me being too lazy plus running around in the wind all day...

Just quickly choose a few random photographs from the past week. Okay I'll admit it, I partially posted these particular ones because of the fact that they seemed to colour co-ordinate nicely. God I swear I have obsessive compulsive tendencies sometimes! Like my room will be massive mess all week until late one night I start cleaning, then everything has to be organized and spotless before I can get to sleep (even if that ends up being 2am on a school night). What a loser.

Though on the subject of my bedroom I am always trying to get rid of stuff and re-organize - after years of being a bit of a hoarder I now can't stand clutter and unnecessary shit. Thanks to this new attitude literally over half of my wardrobe is currently residing in big piles on my floor: to throw away, to give away, and to eBay. Everyone who entered my room previously was always like "omg you have soooo many clothes Luce, jealous!" but little did they know it was at least a 4 year dust-collecting collection, with some stuff even dating back to my primary school days. I kid you not haha. Now there are actually empty shelves in my wardrobe and free hanging spaces on my once crowded clothes racks! Which means I am obliged to do a big summer shopping spree, no? I think YES.

So whilst I was doing a bit of a blog archive stalk over at The Haute Pursuit, a line in this Flare magazine feature caught my eye. It mentioned how Vanessa was moving to New York to be closer to her agency, Digital Brand Architects, which 'helps influential bloggers work with labels to spin off their style'. Now I don't mean this stood out to me in a bad way, really I was just intrigued that such agencies existed. After a bit of a google I came across an old NY times article which gives more insight into the subject and a bit more about DBA from their website:

This may of been a bit naive of me for someone who has been reading countless fashion blogs for almost three years now, but I never realized there were agencies like DBA out there focusing solely on the representation and promotion of bloggers (of course in fashion but also lifestyle, beauty, food, etc). I'll go ahead and assume working with a third party would not influence the way a blogger writes or the types of content they choose to post, but I still can't help but feel like it would be loosing a little bit of your blogs independence - you know that raw, real factor which make blogs so relatable?

However it makes sense for bloggers with major international popularity and reach, especially when blogging is their livelihood and full time job. The content and creative side would want to be the bloggers main focus, so I can imagine without such services to help handle the business side it would be hard to know if you were being used unfairly by a brand, or which opportunities to take when offered an endless stream, etc. (A challenge which I'm sure a few of us wouldn't particularly mind being faced with!)

A full time blogger is not something I aspire to be, but as someone right down at the other spectrum of blogging I admire those who are. Just how serious the 'business' of fashion blogging and bloggers influence on the industry is getting with the prevalence of social media is pretty amazing.

Rachel Rutt is still consistently killing it - in print, every second Aussie designer's lookbook, taking up my bloglovin' feed, and almost everywhere else you look. Besides their mutual carefree attitudes these two beach shoots come across as quite aesthetically different, with the sun-kissed Yen shots definitely coming out on top for me. One of the first times I really noticed Rachel's beautiful unique face was in an issue of Yen. She was on the cover with freckles and a nose ring, donned in fairy lights and possibly a fluffy party hat? I'll have to dig it up. Yen is rad, I like how honest and raw the shoots seem.

So the weather is finally heating up. The days are getting longer, tans getting deeper, clothes less, hair messier... Life simpler? One month more until summer starts and school is discarded for my few breezy months (always the best of the year!) which will no doubt fly by. You know that thing they say about having fun. Right now however time seems to be more crawling on by at snail speed, with hectic end of high school procedures and exams and work and such which leave only a pinch of time for relaxation let alone blogging. Apologizes for the resulting lack of interesting original content to post. Much love always!

Definitely something I'll be wanting to purchase come November - Free People always have effortless yet flawlessly styled lookbooks and campaigns, so I have a feeling it's going to be something special. These shots mix a hint of vintage with modern day 00's cool. Very fresh, the messy hair plus defined brows combination looks insane. The contrasts throughout these looks are the best - metallics and chunky knits, sneakers and skirts, vintage boyfriend tees and sequins, sexy lace and beaten up boots, etc. Fashion being brave and experimental and just fun totally represents gen Y's take on style for me. Sportsgirl Blazer and white tee, One Teaspoon shorts which I don't really like anymore but the colour is too good not to wear, trusty black Con's, Lovisa/DIY wrist bits, nails that are half chipped from doing dishes at work but removing the rest of the polish is too much effort, hair which I've dyed black again.

Firstly excuse my ridiculous face pulling, taking self shots is just so funny that I can't help myself. So guys my memory's not that great, but I think this may be a bit of a what-I-wore post! Yeah one of those, this blog hasn't seen one of those in far too long. Took these photos at the end the cloudy and overcast day, so the natural lighting made it dead easy to self timer away without any need for constant setting adjusting. Natural light is always the best, so much more interesting to work and experiment with. Plus I have this thing against flash. It's nothing personal camera, but I just never use it other than at dark parties or in the studio with external flash/controlled lighting.

Anyway this was a Thursday outfit. Thursday being the only glorious day of the week in which I go to college to do arts and photography. Therefor, unlike the other 4 days of school, no uncomfortable and unflattering high school uniform is required! Big YAY. Although next year when I will have to find an outfit for the full 365 days (that justifies heaps more shopping right?) I will most likely be taking this all back and begging for the return my zero effort school uniform.

See I only have like 30-something more days of school-dress-wearing grade 10 left. Only less than 40 week days and I'm done with high school! Well except for the next two years of 'college' i.e grades 11 & 12, but that's going to be a whole new fresh start with more freedom and a lot more work. Whilst I'm talking stats it's only 37 days until Australian summer officially starts! The greatest three months of the year... I'm not the only one who just can not wait right?

Usually I'm much more of a neutral kind of gal, but this dress is possibly the greatest colour in zee whole wide world, no? Well at least according to my current mood. And as such mood is constantly changing, for the measly cost of $25 dollars this bright Valley Girl steal couldn't get much better! Except for when it's had an iron, which it obviously hasn't in these photos thanks to my lazy self.

Currently I am more than happy with my buying habits of spending a little as possible per garment, resulting in a larger and overall more dispensable wardrobe. As I get older and eventually find my 'style' or a need to dress a certain way I'm sure my shopping tactics will also mature into buying quality over quantity, but for now I'm all about having fun and loving my chain store/sale rack BFFs.

I still make the occasional $$$ splurge (anything triple digit is considered a splurge on my student-with-a-social-life budget!) but it has got to be on something that I wear often,like a pair of shoes or a bikini, therefor quality is important. Okay okay, and sometimes on one of those dresses I just have to have. You know the ones...

Stocking the likes of Erin Wasson's Low Luv and House of Harlow, MOLTEN STORE is definitely one of my current favourites for online-window-shopping, which in it's self is one of my favorite past times. Especially loving the magazine feature (where the pages above are from) focusing on a few of Australia's hot 'n homegrown creative talents.

It's no wonder really as I've always loved reading the beautiful words of Molten Store creator Jessy Cameron through her blog, Wide Awake Thoughts. As much as images can speak for themselves, in my opinion the best blogs are always by those creative individuals who have a distinct writing style that makes you want to keep reading. The best example is definitely Nirrimi, whose photography is up there with the best of the best yet her haunting words are what draw me in to her blog We Live Young the most.

I'm starting to get into film photography when I have the chance. I love the unexpected element of shooting and also going through the developing process - the way the different chemicals work and the massive amount of detail that's stored on negatives fascinates me. The black and white shots in this post were taken on an old canon slr, though at the moment I'm messing around with water and light leaks by partially destroying colour disposable cameras, all thanks to The Reject Store and their $5 wedding cams!

Excuse my horrible fingers plus that the fact I probably should have taken the photo earlier in the week before they started to peel off and bump, buuuttttt nail foils are my latest obsession. Especially in metallic colours. Obsessed. Also tucked in this post is a tiny little taste of my street art inspired major work, for those of you who were curious. And by 'tiny little taste' I mean as in only the first five minutes work on an image which is taking hours and many different processes. Before the many more images to follow. Man if only I put as much time, effort and energy as I give to the arts to every other subject at school I would be a kid genius by now. And also never sleep. Though if I was a genius I could probably invent a cure for lack of sleep? Of course. Which is something I need to do right now (sleep, not the inventing) as lack thereof is causing me to write crazy midnight posts which do not make sence. Good night.

I'm really into street art lately. Not just like the usual graffiti and tagging you see everyday walking around the streets though, but these three dimensional installation and mural type works on really large scales. My favourite part is the unexpected element, adding these things that don't necessarily 'belong' in boring grey streets and that would definitely make you do a double take in real life. But on the other hand I also love the ones which blend into the location whilst obviously not being natural. You might remember when I posted about this sequin street art a month or so ago, and thanks to tumblr and sites such as DUMBWALL and UNURTH my obsession has been growing ever since. Obviously I can't attempt anything this massive, or go around painting random buildings at all for that matter, but instead I'm using these as inspiration for my current visual art work by taking photographs of buildings then experimenting from there on a 2D scale. Printing the photos and drawing, adding to and manipulating them before rescanning them in and Photoshopping and printing again, etc, etc.

Images via Vogue.com, photographed by Yannis Vlamos. My favourite looks at sporty inspired Alexander Wang SS12 (styled for the runway by Karl Templer, the dude behind that mad CK One campaign). For some reason I can't stop staring at the white futuristic print; the mix of geometrical and Navajo/American Indian shapes meets racing arrows and stripes. I like the touch of that monochrome Hawaii floral in the sheer, as seen on the jumpsuits complete with kick ass matching helmets. Which, by the way, were enough to make me want a motor bike all over again* (yes I went through that stage when I was about 10...) but I better stick to learning how to drive a car properly first. The presence of mesh throughout the collection came across as surprisingly very cool, also in full techno swing at Rag and Bone. *But hey, I would have settled for playing motorbike PlayStation games with Alex at the after party instead!

What do you like to do in your free time?
To be honest, because I work for myself, there is not much free time. I love music-The Zombies, Mississippi Blues, Guided by Voices, Sonic Youth, early Elvis, Grinder Man, Eno, My Bloody Valentine, The Them. They keep me company. My friends–I have to somehow persuade as many as I can, to come and work with me, in order to see them!

Besides styling, you have also gotten into photography. Could you ever see yourself making a career change?
I love pictures. I work as a stylist to be around creative people who are obsessed with photography. I have an old Nikon fm2 that I use but the photos are really used to just to activate my eyes and to remind myself how subjective it all is. I get to work with some really talented people.

Styling is such an integral part of any great fashion shoot. Do you think it is the photographer or stylist who makes the shoot? Or is it a partnership?
It’s always about the whole team dynamic and the collaboration process from me to the photographer, to your subject, to your assistant. It’s about everyone and the energy.

Would you say your work is influenced by your personal style or do you like to keep that separate?
Every style reference to me is just based on amalgamations of the popular culture that has impressed me as time passes. For my work and for me, it’s about what I love. From a Lisa Bonet hair-do when I used to be a nut for The Cosby Show, to some t-shirt Courtney Love wore, to memories from growing up in Connecticut and on the beach in Australia. Personally, I’m not into trends so much. More so about a story.

Can you tell us anything about any future projects?
I am writing a film…

A few snaps from one day last week. Being 'annoying' stalking Caitlin* - though really she secretly loves her own personal paparazzi - and just messing around in art. I barely have any spare time lately so I've just been taking loads of random photos whenever I can. That would be my (extremel amateur) photography tip number one: carry your camera anywhere and everywhere when possible. You never know what you might be inspired by or come across! Spontaneous, natural shots always seem to turn out the best too. Another plus for me is that from constantly shooting in so many different conditions, lighting etc I am starting to really build an understanding of what settings and such are needed in order to capture a photograph how it's pictured in my head. Well it comes out that way most of the time. If I'm lucky. *Since these photographs were taken she now has probably the best ombre dye job I've ever seen. I was quite over seeing dip dyed hair but Caitlin's just came out so rad. I'll have to take another stalker shot of the back of her head for you guys....

The two websites I ~~waste~~ spend far too much time on, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Little taste of what I've been loving and reblogging over at Waves and Babes -Tumblr is the perfect site for enjoyable procrastination! And if you haven't made the switch to try out Bloglovin' Beta, definitely do. It's just so much more convenient and generally 'beta' all round, especially if your like me and let yours build up well into the hundreds.

I am now on school holidays for a two weeks, before it's time to go back and complete my last term of high school ever, eeek! Unfortunately my schedule for the next fortnight is really filled up with work, but I'll be spending every other bit of free time with friends and then squeezing in some gym, surf and of course blogging time here and there! I know it's only a few days into spring but hopefully the weather god can pull out a bit of sun for my break. The camouflage/utility/army print shirt/jacket looking surprisingly cool, even if it's been so long that I can't remember what it's actually called. Camo print usually reminds me of those really bad cargo pants, but I'm feeling it in a whole new light when paired with feminine whites and pastels. Provides that pretty-slash-tough contrast I'm always after, as well as looking effortless in the just woke up and chucked on my boyfriends jacket kind of way too. And really how cute is Hanne right, she has the balance perfected with delicate lace, pleats and those little flowers in her hair. Happy first day of spring lovelies, hello sun!!

Oyster, floral blazer (thirty five dollars down from $109, Sportsgirl that's why I love you) and some sunshine, warming me up for Spring which is finally going to grace us Aussie's with it's presence on Thursday! Pretty certain I'm not alone in saying that I am unbelievably excited to be able to shed some layers and feel the sun on my skin again. Oh and whilst I was doing a room/house clean I colour co-ordinated all my knits and jumpers. I'm such an loser. MONA: MUSEUM of OLD and NEW ART. A small few of the photos I took when I visited about a month ago - they definitely do no justice to the overall experience though. So basically this crazy rich ex-gambler guy David Walsh has an effing impressive art collection, so he built a really mother effing impressive building on his wine estate so his favourite art can be put on display and enjoyed by all. For free entry no less! personally the architecture of the museum, which is actually built 'underground' into the side of a cliff, almost beats the art exhibited when it comes to wow factor. And that's saying something. There are no labels or descriptions throughout the museum, instead on entry you're given a modified iPod touch called 'the O'. The O contains information about each artwork whilst constantly updating to your location, to provide you with coverage on whichever piece you're standing in front of. Sure the basement level (which you can choose go travel down to either by a crazy spiraling staircase or a glass elevator Charlie-and-the-Chocolate-Factory-Style. Childhood dream come true much?!) contains some rather 'confronting' art, not what I'd normally choose to view, but overall the standard and variety of MONA is mind blowing. Especially some of the large installation works, a few also being interactive. The placement of everything may seem like it is a bit miss matched, with photography and audio visual work alongside Egyptian artifacts dating back to early BC next to modern sculpture (such as the 'Fat Car' or a suside bomber cast in dark chocolate) - but somehow it all flows and not knowing what to expect around every dark corner adds to the experience. If you're ever in Tasmania - not that I'd really recommendthe visit down as a local har har - MONA is a must. Enter with an open mind, and you'll leave question what you though you knew about 'art'. Almost the best thing I've ever found on the Internet. Though how even more amazing would it be to randomly come across this is real life?! The orange and pink 'lava' one is mad. SO GOOD. Created by a Danish artist called Theresa Himmer, who does large street art and architecture type pieces, these sparkling installation creations were added the streets of Iceland back in 2006-8. They were inspired by elements and nature (fire, volcanoes, ice, water, mountains, etc, etc) and have inspired me to mix a pop of bright sequins in with something everyday and unexpected. Discovered thanks to Plenty of Colour.

Shot by Caitlin on her Nikon D3100, just messing around as her stand-in-model for some test shots. I'd much rather be behind the camera than in front but thought I'd post a few anyway as I haven't put up an outfit post of any sort in forever. And that is my favourite Sportsgirl cardigan at the moment, so unbelievably cozy. Just like a big grandma knitted blanket with buttons! Haha yet not waterproof for running to school in the rain with a broken umbrella, as you can still tell in the last photo. Anyway my best friend and I scored the best opportunity and have started spending Thursdays in the photography studio and art spaces at the College we're going to next year, so that we can go straight into pre-tertiary Fine Arts and Photography in year 11. They have such a rad set up there, so obviously I am extremely excited about it. Also exciting, last night we went to a little exhibition opening for finalists of a photography competition we entered a while back. Beating hundreds of other entries and then seeing our work on display was so rewarding! Hope you've all got your own exciting stuff happening, the downside to all of my extra busyness lately is definitely that I barely have enough time to properly catch up with all of your lovely blogs, grrrrrr!

Russh magazine probably seems like its talked up an awful lot amongst bloggers - especially us Aussie folk - but all with good reason. It is the epitome of what draws me into the world of fashion, going well beyond just clothes or whatever overpriced collections are currently hitting the runways, not being afraid to venture into the different, and promoting individuality. After the news of Stevie Dance's departure from the publication hit social media a month or so ago I went into initial denial and sadness, before settling for excitement over possible new directions the magazine's aesthetic may take. Although Dance obviously brought so much raw beauty and freshness to the magazine (maybe a bit too much for some peoples' liking?) the vision behind Russh certainly isn't that of any individual and still stands strong. Whilst Stevie has now formally left from her fixture as Fashion Editor, that does not mean her contributions are gone. At least not for now and I predict, with my fingers crossed, not for some time. She's still there working her magic alongside Will Davidson (or my other favourites Benny Horne and Derek Henderson) who always kill it with the photography on the main Editorials. Her Ed's Letters were always so refreshing and the first thing I read when I picked up a new issue, but for this issue long time Russh Publisher and Editor in chief Jess Blanch's Ed-letter-debut definitely did not disappoint. Most importantly however are the countless others putting their creative hearts and soles into compiling those pages we all crave every second month. Flicking through this issue all of the beauty and intrigue is sure there, and I'm looking forward to reading it all. Then reading it all again and again. The writing is almost my favourite element of Russh, I love how it feels as though you're talking to your cool best friend whose just come back from holidays with a million stories to tell....

Currently exploring this 'theme' of like new life growing from death, and also turning around humans destroying nature into the opposite. It's hard to explain whilst typing, plus my low point when it comes to art is definitely that I can't really do 'planning' - I just make stuff up as I go. Like this quote I really like by some guy who I can't remember: Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes, Art is knowing which ones to keep. Only three periods of art a week is so depressing, especially with all the wasted periods of say science or health. Ha ha. I mean I do have the most amazing teacher, but still I can not wait to be able to do level 3 pre-tertiary arts at college next year. I have just made my decision where I'm going for the next two years too; it's the smallest college out of my options but they have a big focus on the arts and perfect photography facilities, probably the best equipped studio in the state. I've been dreading it all year but man suddenly the end of high school couldn't come soon enough! Also tomorrow my internet shall be finally be un-capped, so I can tackle my Bloglovin' (1000+) and reply to comments yay x

That Girl Lucy is almost two years old! Man I actually find that so strange yet very rewarding! I think this calls for a little speech. I live in a small city, right down the bottom in Australia's low populated island state. We're far from a land of two headed bogans (thank you very much rest-of-the-country haha) but still there's not much at all going on around here in terms of diversity and culture and arts and individuality and fashion etc. Which, especially for teenagers like myself, can definitely be pretty uninspiring sometimes. So what I'm getting at is the beauty of blogging. Over the last two years since I discovered this great little hidden world - yet it's getting bigger and bigger everyday - called the fashion blogosphere, I've become so much more inspired. And more importantly gained the self confidence to be myself and wear whatever I want. Putting into action all of these outfits and ideas always running through my head thanks to magazines and trends and movies and designer collections I'll never be able to afford and art and friends and random people and music and now BLOGGERS. Which, without a more elegant way if putting it, is really fucking cool. Having this medium to connect with you awesome folk from all over the world who think like minded to myself and share a mutual love for clothes and 'fashion' well beyond the superficial. Blogging lifted my spirits during the periods last year I was seriously ill, and I think somehow has helped shape me as a person away from the laptop. Okay I'll round it up before this turns too sappy and cheesy. I can not wait to move to Sydney and hopefully be able travel everywhere and anywhere in the world, soaking up as much as possible; but for now our blogosphere is definitely cutting it.

So looking into my next year of this blog, I really want to start writing more. I feel it needs more substance, I mean as much as I love random pretty images I'm finding them quite lacking lately.* I do write the occasional big long post put I always feel like it comes across preachy when I talk about fashion as I'm obviously no expert. So I'm putting that aside and am going to start writing more. Because for some bizarre reason 400+ people seem like the ideas and vision that comes out of my head, because I actually love writing, and because it's one of the few things my school reports tell me I'm really good at - along with art, society & history, and talking too much in class. For s long as I can remember I've thought when I grow up I want to work in the magazine Industry or something else in journalism/public relations (I don't want to really narrow my options within that field just yet) and turns out 'when I grow up' is in the not too distant future. As in actually really soon. I have college orientation days this week and have to decide what subjects and courses I'll be taking in year 11 next year, then worry about pre-tertiary marks for Uni entrance and exams and all the fun stuff. Two and half years later I'll hopefully be in Sydney, studying whilst gaining work experience/interning anywhere that will take me. When I was seven years old I made a series of magazines entitled 'Girl Gags' and sold them to the other girls at school for 20 cents. When I was 13 I made my first blog. Last year I did my English Individual Project on the business of blogging vs magazines and got the highest mark of my high school career to date. It's something I've always been passionate about and that fact that the real hard work is about to start gets me so excited. Without any opportunities for Industry experience down here blogging has helped me reinforced that passion, and continually learn about the social media side which may be quite valuable in the future. Well I've gone off track a bit hey but I suppose I'll publish this all anyway as part of my new blog-and-write-more-philosophy!

The Selby is my favourite website to get lost in, I love having a stalk inside creative people's homes (or wardrobes or handbags or lives etc). Thst'a in the least creepy way possible of course! Still at home from school resting, my mum has banned me from the leaving the house today as my cold has turned into an infection ugghh. I'll definitely be out of bed tomorrow though (and at 5.30am no less) as I have the state Rock Eisteddfod challenge which is pretty exciting. My school are reigning champs so you know, there's no pressure of anything. Okay I lied the pressure is seriously on! Picked up this Finders Keepers shirt for only 20 bones down from 79 on Saturday, hello. I did put myself on a clothes buying ban a few week ago in order to try and save my very small earnings, but c'mon it's winter stock take sales and a girl can't help herself right?! All I want is another pair of little brown ankle boots - I think maybe lace ups, fur lined hiking boot style if you can visualize that - then dear bank account, I promise I will be good to you. For a while at least. Ahhh we so have a very love/hate relationship. Yesterday I had a note in my mailbox about a parcel to pick up though and I'm sure I haven't ordered anything online in ages (?) so that could an exciting surprise there hmmm.. My Internet has been capped the last few days (the patience and frustration I put into my last few posts for you guys should be applauded haha) then add my crazy busyness with school/work on top of that and I've no time for any blog reading or to chuck you guys any comments *sadface. Throw in some Alex Wang and Sasha Pivovarova and the Mulleavy sisters and some more favourite names and the result seemed like it was a pretty dayumn fine thirty six page spread. These are my few favourite images, a couple of them (like the three in bed or Kate on the bus) are quite iconic photographs in my opinion.

Collage made with images via Style.com. Micheal Kors SS11 is one of my all time favorite collections. It couldn't get much colder here right now - think negative degree mornings walking to school or busing to work eeek - but there's still lots of elements and a perfect colour palette I'll going to try and keep in mind to add freshness to my winter outfits, just plus a lot more layers. Because at the moment gloomy weather seems to make me reach for black black come the weekend, even when I'm not working. And hey at least the messy hair knots are something I'm ALWAYS down for whatever the weather. Kors latest resort collection however I don't go for so much. I mean I quite like the gold touches, but fluro yellow and black stripes 'n Zebra print, no thanks buddy. Whilst it's very evident that neon colours are making a comeback creeping up in shoes and bags and blogs, there's no way I'm buying into it next summer (bad bad fluro memories involving my preteen self not to be repeated.) And the whole wetsuit thing was done for last summer with Proenza and Roxy x Cynthina Rowley and Abbey in that Vogue ed with the pink dip dye etc etc etc. Hmmm I feel weird when I write about fashion-y stuff, because I don't know shit really and it always seems to come across all preachy when read posts back haha just look at the pictures...

It's funny how easily entertained I am when it's a Sunday and I can't be bothered even leaving my room. Re-arranged magazine tear outs on my walls - looooser yes, but after I read the magazines 78595000 times I like to be able to see my favorite bits all the time heheh.You can't see it very well in these bad scratchy photos, but I found this old sportsgirl dress shoved up the back of my wardrobe. Stopped wearing it over summer as it shrunk and stretched and lost it's shape at the top, but I very much like the shape when worn over black stockings and under a big knit. I'm so over skinnies and jeans in general at the current time it's not funny. My winter uniform for this year is pretty much ankle boots + stockings + skirt/dress/oversize jumper of some kind. Usually also + knit socks + scarf + beanie + gloves + anything warm because the weather down here is so fucking cold right now and won't stop pouring with rain eeeek x x x

I know I'll be hitting up the newsagent first thing after school tomorrow. Personally I'd say it's one of the best looking magazine covers I've seen in a long time. So the buzz is that this is the last issue with Stevie Dance as editor, noooo. Which is immensely sad, but at the same time I am intrigued as to what new creative direction will take Russh on (someone is going to have a hell of a lot to live up too!). Kym Ellery started out her fashion days working alongside Dance at Russh and now she's my favourite Australian designer, so who knows anything could be on the cards next for Stevie...
